Recently I heard someone say that there was a time in their life when it seemed as though they were like a cork bobbing and weaving in the water.
Merely being tossed to and fro with no particular direction, simply being moved along.
For the first time in my life, I can identify.
– One year ago this week I was laid off from my last job… BOBBING.
For most of my career life, I had a clear direction of where I was going…UP.
Always climbing, looking for the next right thing.
– I have worked since I was fifteen years old… WEAVING.
My sights were set on growth, improvement, achievement.
Advancing was always the goal. It still is.
– This is the first time I have not worked for this long… BOBBING.
However, the scope of my target hunter has become a bit blurred as I receive another formulaic email.
– “Hello, Thank you for interviewing with us. However… WEAVING.
I still have skin in this game…too young to retire.
So, I continue to suit up and show up each day to the best of my ability.
– Applying… BOBBING
– Networking… WEAVING
Floating along,
– Interviewing … BOBBING
– Applying… WEAVING
as others move in their clear direction.
– Striving… BOBBING
– Achieving… WEAVING

Although it’s been some time, try and enjoy the freedom as much as you can. It’s a wonderful time for your creativity–Urban Gardening, and your writing. You’ll get a good position and they’ll be lucky to have you!
